William Cushing (Cussyn, Cusseyn), was born sometime during the fourteenth century. He was either the son or grandson of the Galfridus Cusyn of Hardingham, Norfolk County, England, who is mentioned in the Subsidy Rolls for Norfolk in 1327. He added to the original estate in Hardingham - the estates in Hingham which were inherited by his son Thomas
